Termas de Chaves promote Open Day at Aquae Salutem Thermal Complex

The event will take place next Saturday, 22 March, which marks World Water Day.

The initiative will be attended by municipal representatives, companies, tourist agents from the region and the local population, providing direct contact with the new wellness facilities. Visits will take place in groups and require prior enrolment.

The Aquae Salutem Thermal Complex, which represents an investment of more than 2.4 million euros, has emerged as a distinctive offering in Portugal, standing out for its immersive Hydrothermal Circuit. Among the main novelties are the open-air Hydrodynamic Pools, heated naturally with Flaviense Thermal Water, and the Sensory Showers, which combine thermal oscillations and sound effects for a revitalising experience. The space also includes a sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation areas, with capacity for up to 104 people.

The project, which involved the refurbishment of part of the Termas de Chaves building, was co-financed by the Northern Regional Operational Programme (NORTE 2020), through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with support of over 1.1 million euros. As well as maximising the benefits of Água Termal Flaviense, this investment reinforces the attractiveness of Chaves as a health and wellness destination, contributing to the development of tourism and the local economy.
