National Health Service maintains co-payment for Thermal Treatments
The National Health Service (SNS) continues to co-finance Thermal Treatments, ensuring support corresponding to 35% of the total cost, up to a maximum limit of €110 per user.
Recognized for its clinical effectiveness, Thermal Medicine is regarded as a relevant complementary approach to improving quality of life. The co-payment granted by the SNS allows users to benefit from personalized treatments at reduced costs, promoting a more preventive healthcare model.
To benefit from this support, the presentation of a Medical Prescription (P1 model), issued by the Family Doctor, is mandatory. On the day of the consultation at the Chaves Thermal Spa, the Hydrologist Physician carries out a detailed assessment of the patient’s medical history, analyzes any complementary clinical exams the patient may have, and defines an individualized therapeutic plan, tailored to the patient’s needs and presented condition.
The Flaviense Spa is indicated for the prevention and treatment of various conditions, namely musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, and post-traumatic recovery; digestive system disorders, including gastritis, duodenitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and liver dysfunctions; and respiratory tract conditions such as rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, and bronchitis.
