National Health Service continues to reimburse thermal treatments
The measure provides 35 per cent support for the cost of treatments, with a maximum limit of €95 per patient. The aim is to promote Thermalism and its benefits.
Thermal medicine is recognised by the National Health Service (SNS) for its effectiveness in promoting health and well-being and this co-payment allows more users to have access to personalised treatments at lower prices. This approach helps to improve quality of life and prevent illnesses, promoting a more sustainable and preventative healthcare model.
To benefit from this support, a medical prescription (P1) from the GP is essential. At Termas de Chaves, after presenting this document and the tests carried out, the Hydrologist assesses the clinical history and draws up a personalised treatment plan, adjusted to each user's pathology.
The Balneário Flaviense is suitable for the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis and post-traumatic recovery; the digestive system, including gastritis, duodenitis, irritable bowel syndrome and liver dysfunction; and the respiratory system, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma and bronchitis.
Appointments can be made via the website (www.termasdechaves.com/marcacoes), by email (reservas.termas@chaves.pt) or by telephone (+351 276 332 445 - Call the national landline network).
